Lauren Keen

Lauren bought her first pony Maximillian in 2002 from a local riding school where she had ridden and helped for a number of years. No one in her family had ever ridden or owned a horse before, they were real beginners! They went from riding school lessons to PC Dengie SJ Warm-Up Champions in 2004.

Lauren then bought Casper aka Muddy Puddle in April 2004 and sold Maximillian in 2005. Lauren and Casper represented Hereford & District Riding Club at numerous championships including the BRC Festival of the Hunter, BRC National Championships and more. Casper was Lauren's horse of a lifetime. Due to Lauren's working commitments, she sold Casper in June 2011 , sold all her equestrian things and hung up her boots for good!

Or so she thought!......

In 2015 Lauren was told she needed a hobby, so Lauren started riding again. Lauren met Caplor Hill Billy (aka Billy), bred and owned by Ms Briony Seller. Since 2015 Lauren and Billy have exceeded from happy hackers to achieving 6th place at the CHAPS UK Open Non-Native Championships 2017, and 5th place in the Show Hunter HOYS Search for a Star (SFAS) Qualifier 2017.  They have also represented Hereford & District Riding Club at Dressage Team events and qualifying for Regional and National Championships.

Shortly after their first HOYS SFAS qualifier, Billy had to stop competing as sadly he developed a bad case of Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis. This resulted in them withdrawing from another HOYS Qualifier, two County Shows and taking them out of the showing ring until the end of August.

After a successful recovery, Lauren believes 2018 is going to be their year!

Lauren and Billy are aiming to compete at their first County Show. They are also aiming to compete in HOYS SFAS and CHAPS qualifiers. Lauren is also looking to transform Billy into an RDA horse to do a SFAS RDA Qualifier with one of Ride2Achieve's riders.

Billy is a happy horse and is always Lauren's first priority.  Making everything fun and enjoyable comes a very close second. Riding is Lauren's hobby, not profession so she says it's got to be fun!

Throughout 2018 Lauren is looking to improve and expand current livery services (based south Herefordshire, 10 minutes from end of M50) including registering as a BHS approved yard.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy services (to be available from Summer 2018)

Lauren is now able to offer retirement livery for those of you who are looking for somewhere for your horse/ponies to retire. The farm is set in 40+ acres which offers 24/7 turnout all year round with natural shelters. Retirement Livery includes 2 daily checks, trimming for barefoot horses and worming.
